  • Stoepepad: This 17km walking route takes you past the chapel Our Lady of Stoepe in Ertvelde. This pilgrimage chapel in honor of Our Lady of Stoepe is surrounded by greenery and nature. The chapel is a place of interest. Around the chapel is a circumambulation with 15 chapels. The original chapels were destroyed during the French Revolution but renewed in the 19th century. Every year from Sept. 8 to 16, there are the Stoepedagen where people do a novena around the chapel. Then 2 to 3 masses are read daily. There is also a small market and the famous sidewalk cakes are still made there.

  • Linking Areas: These walking routes take you past the linkage areas recently created by the Vlaamse Land Maatschappij. Linking areas are connection areas between residential areas and industrial zones. They are laid out with buffers, cycling and walking paths, nature and parks and thus increase the livability of the residential areas close to the Ghent canal zone.
